The Division is all set to expand its own legend of being innovative and daring by setting out on two new adventures: the manufacture of speciality fertilizers and the production of pharma intermediates.
Speciality fertilizers manufactured will be those that contain potassium sulphate,
calcium sulphate and magnesium sulphate.
Pharma intermediates will be a variety of value-added chemicals based on Bromine and other intermediates.
To this end, a 17-acre green field site near the city of Bhavnagar in Gujarat has already been acquired. Core products will include acyl and alkyl bromides, bromocarboxylic acids, esters and its derivatives and brominating reagents. Most of the production will be based on bromination technologies supported by complimentary chemistries. Unit processes and operations will be performed in multi–purpose as well as process/operations specific facilities. An advanced distillation system will be installed to secure highest quality products and tackle stringent operating parameters such as high temperature and high vacuum. All processes will be managed by an integrated control system leading to optimum process performance and minimization of waste.
Once production commences, the Division will consolidate its position as a reliable supplier to pharma and other speciality chemicals industries and at the same time further raise its own bar of excellence by becoming a company that manufactures chemicals as per Good Manufacturing Practices.
