Set up in 1994, this Division has swiftly become an expert manufacturer of Bromine as well as a renowned manufacturer and exporter of Bromine-based speciality and fine chemicals. It has a full–fledged industrial complex right in the heart of the Greater Rann salt desert. This location affords a unique advantage: it is from this 28,000 acre–site that the Division harnesses the principal raw material – sea bittern – which is not only renewable but also unlimited in its availability. Other features of the salt desert including minimum rainfall, maximum hot sunny days, moderate to low humidity, high wind speed and the endless expanse of barren land – all these are highly favourable for the manufacture of Bromine and other marine chemicals such as potash and magnesium chloride.
The Agrocel advantage of innovation in the field of fine chemistry has resulted in the creation of indigenous technologies of world class standard. This technological edge enhances flexibility and allows the Division to offer not only a wide range of manufacturing processes but also a variety of speciality and fine chemicals of the highest quality.
The Division specializes in the manufacture of virgin Bromine, as well as Bromine compounds both organic and inorganic. The superlative quality of Bromine compounds arises from the Division having evolved manufacturing processes capable of containing the chlorine content in Bromine to as low as 0.005%.
Equipped with multi–purpose facility for a wide range of manufacturing processes and products from bench scale to tons scale, the Division also undertakes custom/toll manufacturing as per the specific needs of customers. These range from agrochemical, pharmaceutical and dye-intermediate industries to oil field and speciality chemicals manufacturers both in the local as well as the global arena.
The Division has demonstrated that an inclusive management philosophy can create a formidable team. It entrusted highly educated and committed professionals with the responsibility of rigorously training minimally educated but highly motivated local residents to acquire varied and specialized skills and thus meaningfully participate in operating a complex industrial plant. |
